Seine verschiedenen "Gold" - Nuancen, auch "chryso" genannt, machen den Chrysoberyll zu einem ganz eigenen, facettenreichen Glanzstück. Der gelbe Chrysoberyll steht oftmals im Schatten seines großen Bruders - dem Katzenauge. Dabei ist der Edelstein schon seit der Antike bekannt und ein seltener, klassischer Edel- und Schmuckstein.
Mit seiner Härte von 8,5 gehört er zu den härtesten Mineralen und lässt sich somit sehr gut zu Schmuck verarbeiten.
